Happy Monday everyone! I thought this weekend went by particularly fast – too fast if you ask me. Another birthday weekend has come and gone but I thought I would dedicate a little post to the amazing weekend I had with Daniel and my friends. I woke up to these beautiful flowers the morning of my birthday. For every special occasion (Anniversaries, Birthdays, Valentines), Daniel buys the prettiest and most fragrant bouquets from the florist in our neighborhood. I’m such a sucker for a beautiful bouquet and Daniel always manages to outdo himself with every bouquet.
I didn’t request my birthday off from work, but luckily our firm has their fiscal year-end on my birthday. This meant that we all got the day off work to attend a year-end meeting and participate in some community service. It was great to see all of my co-workers at the same time since the majority of the time we are all on different clients/teams 🙂 Around 4, I headed home to get ready for our dinner reservation at 7:15. I re-did my makeup and got extra glammed up for dinner – (I love getting dolled up for events like birthdays and holidays).
I posted this photo on my blog instagram Friday night. As promised, I’ll write more about it here on the blog.
Dress: Lulus | Pumps: Guess (old) similar here | Necklace: Target (old)
If you click on the dress, you’ll see that the original dress I ordered had some beading along the upper left and right sides of the dress. Usually for a birthday dress or a dress for an event, I envision what I’d like to wear and then I go and shop based on that idea I have. I knew I wanted a magenta form fitting dress for my birthday. When I saw this one on Lulu’s I was very hesitant about the beading, but knew that I would like the fit of the dress. I figured if I hated the beading that much I could always return it. When the dress arrived, I hastily opened the package to find… the most tacky beading I think I’ve ever seen. I tried on the dress anyway and found that it was a perfect fit so I thought of the best solution! I took out some scissors, cut away all the beading, and added my own necklace 😉 And voila – I found the perfect birthday dress!
Daniel made reservations at Foreign Cinema – a restaurant we have been wanting to try for a while but have never gotten around to trying. It was seriously one of the best meals I’ve had and the entire atmosphere of the restaurant is to die for. I’ll let these photos below speak for themselves..
Sorry for these iPhone quality photos, I didn’t have a big bag to carry around the nice camera in hehe.
I had the best time during dinner. There was just something so beautiful about the stringed lights, the open air above us, and the whole ambience of the restaurant. It was such a romantic night with him and I loved every moment of it ♥
Saturday morning, I headed out for a mani-pedi. I was too lazy to drive to my usual salon so I walked down the street to Salon 815. They had just opened a few minutes before I walked in so I received great attentive service. I got white on my nails for the first time and I’m really obsessed with it. I love how white pops against tan skin!
Saturday night, we headed out to Kell’s Irish Pub in North Beach (Little Italy of San Francisco) to meet my friends for a night out. It was so great seeing all of my friends coming together to celebrate my birthday! As we all get older and life gets busier, it’s always nice to be able to spend time with each other. For the night’s festivities, I decided to wear this little number from Urban Outfitters.
Dress: Urban Outfitters | Wedges: Jessica Simpson
We slept in for a long time on Sunday and recovered throughout the day from our busy weekend. Once we finally got around to waking up, we headed over to this pancake house in Milbrae that we frequent a lot. I get the same thing EVERY time I go there – a huge waffle with strawberries and extra whipped cream, bacon, & eggs over easy 😉
We spent the rest of the day relaxing in bed, napping, and prepping for the long work/school week ahead. I just wanted to say I had such an amazing birthday weekend & thank you SO much to everyone who wished me a happy birthday (by text, call, or social media) and everyone who came out to celebrate with me. You guys sure know how to make a girl feel loved! XO
