You know, it’s funny I never used to like plaid shirts on myself. I’ve bought so many over the years, but I never wore them because I didn’t like the way they fit. They were always too tight or too baggy. And then I stumbled upon this plaid shirt during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year while stocking up on fall goodies. I love the way this plaid shirt fits – it’s form fitting while still being loose enough for that casual laidback look. (For sizing reference, I went up a size and got a Small for a looser fit). As soon as I tried on this shirt, I knew I would be getting good use of it in the fall but really felt the need to wear it right now. I’m that girl that just has to wear all her newly purchased items as soon as possible. And then I continue to buy more clothes. And then the cycle continues. 😉
So I was desperately thinking of a way that I could wear this plaid shirt in the summer and then I looked at my white distressed jeans and I thought yes, yes this could work. I paired the shirt with distressed white jeans, a black cami, and faux leather slip-ons. I seriously pair everything with white jeans. If you see me a lot during summer, you can expect that I’ll be wearing white jeans at least 2 days a week haha.
Also – let’s talk about these slip-ons. I got these from Target last year and they are an identical dupe for Steve Madden’s Leather Slip Ons for about 1/3 the price! Seriously, Target has some really great shoe dupes when it comes to brand names. They’ve since sold out but I’ve linked a pair of black perforated Target ones and the Steve Madden ones below.

I’m so happy I found a way to style plaid during the summer. Can’t wait to wear this piece during the fall months too! I hope all you beauties have a happy hump day! It’s almost the weekend again (yay!) XO
