Woo for Wedding Wednesday! I’ve been waiting for this one for a while – the day when I finally get to share our Save the Dates and our engagement photos! If you missed any of my previous wedding blogs, they are below 🙂
Our Engagement Story // Asking your Bridal Party // Wedding Update – 8 Months to go!
Long before we got engaged, I had heard about Minted – a San Francisco stationary and greeting card company that revolves around a community of independent artists. I loved browsing around and seeing all of the designs that local artists had come up with. I saw a few designs that I really loved from the get-go for potential save the dates and saved them in a favorites folder.
We did our engagement shoot back in August and our fabulous photographer (Blue Lace Photography) got us the photos in 4 days – that’s right FOUR DAYS! So basically I’ve been patiently waiting until our save the dates officially went out to share these engagement photos. In the land of Save the Dates, sending out too early can be overkill and sending too late can be risky. My trusty Erin Condren planner said that 6-8 months is the optimum time and so I waited until about 7 months out for us to send them 🙂
I instantly loved the XOXO Design by Carolyn MacLaren. It’s so cool how Minted gives you the option to do a 9-image backer. We really did love so many of the photos that it was hard to pick just one to put on our save the dates. Minted makes it so easy for you to upload your photos and rearrange them again and again until you find the perfect fit for what you’re looking for.
Pros to using Minted:
–Easy ordering process – I was able to save my design and uploaded photos and come back to the project if I wanted to. Once I decided the card was complete, the order got shipped to us in 3 days!
–Great quality – We opted for the standard paper and it’s very sturdy and thick. They do have options to upgrade to a thicker paper, but in my opinion it’s not necessary since the standard paper is already so heavy duty.
–Variety of designs and color schemes – There are seriously hundreds of layouts and fonts to choose from, which makes it such a great platform to use. I love the “foiled” option they had as well for some cards!
-Convenience – One of my favorite things about Minted and a huge appeal to me was their complimentary guest addressing. They allow you to upload an excel of your guest list and their addresses and they pre-print your envelopes. This honestly saved us SO much time and so many of our guests said that they were impressed by the envelopes! They thought I hand wrote them 😉
Seriously, if you’re a bride to be I highly recommend using Minted for your Save-the-Date and Wedding Invitation needs. We are definitely going to be using them again for our Wedding Invitations!
And of course.. my favorite part of this post! Our engagement photos <3 We couldn’t be happier with how they turned out and every time we look at them, we just get so excited for the big day next year. These are truly moments that I will cherish forever with him 🙂
