Why hello! It’s been quite a while since I’ve blogged and there’s really no excuse 😉 I wanted to share our Sonoma weekend with all of you and the outfits I wore all weekend! I don’t know about you guys but whenever we have a vacation plan, I immediately start thinking about my outfits and what I want to wear. It’s the worst.. but also the best 🙂
We’ve been having the wettest winter we’ve had in SO long here in the bay area and while it’s great for the drought, it’s a real damper for weekend plans/commuting/life/etc. I was ecstatic to see a sunny forecast for our Sonoma trip!! It was 70 and sunny all weekend long – perfection.
On Saturday, we headed out to around 11:30 and stopped in Mill Valley for lunch at Sol Food. If you’ve never been there before I highly recommend. It’s Puerto Rican cuisine and seriously to die for. I always get the Pollo al Horno plate with the sweet plantains and pink beans with a ponche (mango iced tea/limeade) to drink. *drools*
I opted for a comfy and casual travel outfit on the way up. I always love wearing comfy outfits when we have a bit of a roadtrip because duh.
Adidas Trefoil Pullover: Zumiez (I wear an XS for reference and it still had a nice loose fit) // White ripped jeans: Express (old, similar here with more rips, and very similar here) // White Converse: Nordstrom – these seriously go with everything and I love that they’re slip-ons! // Tote: Stella & Dot – I got this for Hawaii and it’s a great size for traveling. I’ll definitely be bringing it out a lot in Spring!
We got to Sonoma and headed straight to Imagery Winery per my best friend and her hubby’s recommendation. It did not disappoint! It was probably our favorite wine tasting of the weekend. They were very laidback, relaxed, and the wine was delicious! Now if you know me, you probably know I don’t drink… ever.. due to an allergy. But I was able to leisurely wine taste this weekend and it was such a fun experience! Things I’ve learned: I don’t like red wine, only whites & I really like Rieslings 😉
One of my favorite parts about Imagery was the patio lawn where you could picnic. We brought along salami, cheese, and crackers and sat out there until the winery closed. It was so relaxing and a perfect start to our weekend.
And then we headed over to our hotel, MacArthur Place. I found this spot on a whim while browsing TripAdvisor and couldn’t be happier! The property itself is gorgeous and I love how each cluster of rooms is themed differently. We were in the “Cedar” cluster. They have a complimentary wine and cheese reception, complimentary breakfast, and a beautiful pool/hot tub. It had so much charm and was everything we were looking for for a quick night away.
We got settled in, took a nap (because it’s my favorite), and got ready to head to our dinner reservation at the girl & the fig. This is one of my sister’s favorite restaurants and she recommends it all the time so we were so excited to finally try it. So delicious and cute ambience! We got the flounder and the duck confit and both were great.
I’d had my eye on this dress for a while and when we booked our Sonoma weekend trip, I knew it’d be a perfect valentines dinner dress. I love the off the shoulder ruffle with the fitted dress. I actually did make an adjustment to the dress and cut off the second ruffle layer because it looked a little overwhelming on my body. Otherwise, it’s perfect!
Dress: Showpo – Australian sizing can be tricky sometimes, I ordered a 2 which is the equivalent to an XS and it fit perfectly so I’d say it’s pretty true to size // Heels: Old (Similar here & on sale right now!)
The next day we had breakfast at the hotel and then headed to Ledson Winery. I was so excited to see this one in person because it legit looks like a castle *hearts eyes*. The interior actually reminded me a lot of house in American Horror Story season 1. Dark, romantic, and gothic almost. We didn’t love our experience here – the wine tasting seemed a little snobby and there was barely anyone there. Definitely a place just to go for pictures and sightseeing.
Off-the-Shoulder Top: Topshop (old, same style here in white and other cute white/blue long sleeve style here) // Jeans: Articles of Society (very similar here) // Wedges: Steve Madden (old, similar here)
After Ledson, we headed to the Fremont Diner for lunch. We’ve been here before with my family and the pups and it was so good! We got the fried chicken sandwich, chicken and waffles, jalapeno cheese cornbread, and mac & cheese. #eeeats
(Lip color is NYX Indie Flick – it’s more orange in person than it’s showing up in photos 🙂 )
The real winner was the mac & cheese… just look at it.
Once the food coma settled, we went to our last stop of the day – Jacuzzi Family Winery. I’d read that they gave complimentary wine and olive oil tastings so I thought it’d be a nice way to end the trip. The only thing is you can’t buy wine by the glass only the bottle. That being said, it was a reasonable price and we got a bottle and sat out on the patio together.
We had such an amazing trip to Sonoma this weekend. We never travel anywhere for Valentines day and have always been pretty lowkey but I love love loved getting away and plan to make it a tradition to do a getaway now for valentines 😉 Happy Monday everyone!! Hope you guys had a great weekend too.
