Happy Monday!! Hope all of you had a fabulous weekend – I know I sure did! This past weekend, we celebrated at my bridal shower and you guys.. it was seriously out of a dream ♥ I had always imagined having a beautiful garden party for the occasion and after finding The Magic Flute in Presidio heights I knew it’d be the perfect place to have the shower. Not to mention their brunch is absolutely delicious!!
Now.. I can’t say it was all fun and stress-free.. San Francisco weather is so bi-polar and finicky! It can seriously change from block to block. About a week before the shower, it said it was going to literally “shower” during my shower. Worst news ever. All of my sweet friends insisted that I keep my hopes up and sure enough, the rain took a break on Saturday and we even had amazing sunshine!
I seriously had the best day ever seeing all of the amazing beautiful people from so many different walks of my life in one place. Big thank you to all everyone who took the time of out their busy lives to come celebrate with me!! It was incredible to experience all of the love, energy, and laughter. My heart is still so full even while writing this and reliving it through these photos!
I’ll try to link all the decor items below the pic if it’s still available. Just remember for bridal showers.. Etsy is your best friend! It also helps if your sister is crafty and artsy AF and your bestie is a professional photographer 😉 If you’re living in the Sacramento area and need a photographer for any occasion, check out my beautiful bestie’s work at Blake Kayla Photography!
Having checked off bridal shower on my festivities list now, I can tell you this:
- Be as involved or uninvolved in the planning process as YOU want! This is your bridal shower at the end of the day. My personality – I absolutely live for this shit – details, florals, making events picturesque, and planning. I was pretty involved in my planning and I was so happy to be a part of it. It was the best feeling ever to see it all come together and see my vision come to life.
- Ask for help from your loved ones. People love contributing to occasions like this so definitely take your friends up on their offers to make something or help with anything for the shower.
- DIY whatever you can. It’s fun and it saves money. 😉
- Shop for your outfit ahead of time to avoid stressing last minute!
- Don’t stress too much! (I know this is easier said than done) but the day will be beautiful no matter what because all of your friends and family will be there.
- You can’t control the weather – always have a plan B!
- Get a good night’s sleep so you’re radiant and beautiful on your day!
- Have fun – it seriously flies by so quickly ♥
And of course special thank you to my MOH and my momma for throwing me the bridal shower I always dreamed of! XOXO!
Can you believe my talented sister made this sign by hand?? Free hand?? I clearly didn’t get the artistic genes in the family lol.. She painted the flowers with watercolor too! Seriously in awe – and trying to convince her to get an Etsy shop so she can share her creations 😉
You can find this PDF template on Etsy here
We also used these PDF games from Etsy. We did “How well do you know the bride?” and “He said, She said” They were such a hit! One note about these two listings is that once you purchase, the shop owner will send you either a proof or instant PDF download. We then took that to our local Office Depot to print and cut. This process took WAY longer than we thought lol.. Office Depot took almost an hour and half to do everything so just be prepared to wait 🙂
You can find the favor boxes here
My best friend had DIY-ed the antique chalk board frames for her own wedding so she graciously let me borrow them for the shower and wedding! I just used a chalkboard marker to write on the signs. You can find them at any Michael’s or arts/crafts store.
bride-to-be banner // mini veil
Don’t forget about all the goodies you can find on Amazon that are so inexpensive and come in 2 days or less with prime!! The veil came very wrinkled and structured but after a good steam it was perfect 🙂
This was one of my favorite DIYs from the shower! I saw this idea on Pinterest and knew I wanted to recreate it for my bridal shower. I got the white frame from Michael’s and the fake flowers as well. With a trusty glue gun, the vision came together very easily! Definitely be on the lookout for sales and coupons – I got everything for 50% off that day 🙂
I also did the floral arrangements for the shower as well – If you know me you know I absolutely LOVE fresh blooms. I get them every week for the house! Flowers just bring me so much joy and they’re so beautiful. I did a mix of two types of arrangements – white hydrangeas and cream/light pink roses. Definitely check out Trader Joe’s for flowers – they’re the best bang for your buck when it comes to fresh flowers!! The mason jars were also super easy to put together – I just wrapped twine around and hot glued the ends of the twine to the jars. The best part about all this decor is that I can reuse it for the wedding 😉
The love balloon was so cute and the rose gold color was just what I wanted! it doesn’t require any helium so you can just blow it up with a straw and it stays all day. The paper fans were easy to stick together and you can hang them easily with thumbtacks.
Believe me when I say… I must have shopped through 20 bridal shower dresses before finding the right one.. This one is from Revolve from the brand NBD. It’s sold out now 🙁 but I’ve linked some other cute bridal shower dresses below!

My best friend and my MOH!
My beautiful sister and mom!
My sweet MOH got me a Snapchat geofilter for the day! She said it was super easy to set up on snapchat (but you have to be on a desktop) and we are definitely getting them for the bachelorette party and wedding now!! So much fun
