Hi friends! We are just two weeks out from Christmas – where does the time go?! Seriously, this year has flown by and now that holiday festivities are in full motion I feel the time is going by even more quickly. This week is my last week of work before we head to Denver & Aspen for a little holiday vacation. I am so excited to see snow and do ALLLL the festive things π After getting back from our trip, we are heading home to Elk Grove for Christmas. I can’t wait to see my family and of course the pups π
I’ve always been a fan of adding plaid into my fall and winter season wardrobe, but after seeing my mom in the cutest red and blue plaid shirt dress on Thanksgiving I was on a hunt to find a really cute plaid dress. I just recently picked up this darling one from LulusΒ (its almost sold out in all sizes so get it while you can!).
Plaid has become such a big trend lately that I thought it’d be fun to share 4 different ways to incorporate plaid into your wardrobe this winter π Whether it’s just an accessory piece or it’s the staple part of your OOTD, you’re bound to feel pretty festive AF in any of these options π
SCARVES
The first is probably the easiest – scarves! Oh my love for scarves is endless and every season I pick up a few different new patterns. I just love how they can change the entire look of your outfit with minimal effort AND they go with a ton because you can play off the different colors woven into the pattern. *Sidenote: I store them in cute baskets I got from Home Goods on a shelf in the closet and it organizes them perfectly!Β
I also love that you don’t have to spend a TON to get a quality scarf. Shop some of my favs below!
VESTS
Nothing cozier than a good ol puffer vest! I got this one from Old Navy last year (wearing XS petite for reference). Vests are so cute for layers and colder weather this season. Pair it with a casual outfit and a pom pom beanie and you’re good to go π
I’ve linked some cute options below – the green and red plaid ones are so adorable!
SKIRTS
Recently I have been so drawn to plaid mini skirts! I wore a very similar look earlier this season with a suede tan skirt and loved it so much I replicated the look with this tan plaid skirt from Lulus. It’s currently sold out but you can sign up for a restock alert here. It’s still available right now in the navy plaid version which is also so so cute. For reference I got an XS so I would say it’s TTS. I also loveΒ this longer midi one from Lulu’s
Plaid skirts make me feel so Cher Horowitz from Clueless and I think they’re a really cute way to incorporate plaid into your outfit. I love them the most paired with tall boots! I’m planning to wear this skirt again in Aspen but with whites and creams instead of the black π
I’ve rounded up some really cute plaid mini skirt options below at all pricepoints!
DRESSES
I’ve never really worn a full plaid dress before but this one from Lulus is just so cute! The blue and red plaid is to die for. I think this print is just so festive and wearing a full on plaid dress makes such a holiday statement. I would say with this shift dress, it’s very petite friendly but it might be a little short for those on the taller side. I also love this dressΒ from Lulu’s.
I’ve linked some other really cute plaid dress options below. Some are sold out but you can sign up for restock alerts! π
Hope you got some good plaid outfit inspo from this post π Such a cute print to rock this winter season. Happy holidays friends!
