Happy Wednesday friends! Hope you are having an amazing week 🙂 I’m sure many of you know but I took a little weekend trip to visit my bff in LA and wanted to share some of the places we went and ate in case you are planning to visit LA anytime soon 🙂

I had a very easy flight in (which is surprising because SFO and LAX are notorious for delays, canceled flights, etc). The flight time is seriously 50 mins or so and I always forget what an quick flight it is. I didn’t even get to finish the movie I watched onboard haha. I found an old favorite, Practical Magic, under their free movie section. Have you watched it? I seriously loved it when I was younger. I always wanted to be a witch lol.
I love going to LA, OC, or San Diego for the weekend because it’s so close and flights are usually so cheap! I caught a great holiday sale and my round trip with tax was under $100. That’s less than the gas money to drive down there 😉
After I landed, I grabbed my luggage and headed to Bottega Louie to meet with up my blogger friend Jess from Jessthrowiton. My BFF had work that Friday and so it worked out perfectly to get the chance to meet up with Jess! She’s super fun and so sweet in person. I got the steak salad and she got the avocado/chorizo toast which were both delish. Of course we also grabbed some macarons because that’s what they’re know for 😉 and you know me, can’t turn down any sweets. I didn’t take any photos of the restaurant (although I should have) so here are some photos from their website of their delish macarons and their adorable interior. Everything is white and gold – it’s absolutely gorg!

After that, I took an uber over to my BFF’s house and we had a pizza party!! When we had my bachelorette last year down in Newport beach, we ordered pizza from Fresh Brothers and I swear I still think about their gluten free crust!! It is the best gluten free crust ever – I love how chewy the dough is. We also got some wings because why not 😉

We woke up and headed to get a quick breakfast in Venice at Flake. We split the breakfast bacon burrito and the breakfast bagel sandwich – SO good! They also had really great coffee. There’s limited seating in the cafe so expect a line 🙂
It was a little chilly this day, but I still decided to wear these overall shorts LOL.. I got really cold by the end of the day for sure. I had packed so many rompers/dresses/shorts etc but this was one of the colder weekends they’ve had in a while unfortunately.
After breakfast, we shopped around Santa Monica at 3rd Street Promenade. They have so many shops and I always love outdoor shopping areas. I got a really cute pullover casual quarter zip from cotton on – I can’t find it online but I was quite impressed by their selection of athleisure hoodies. You can shop them here.
We got a cute little couples massage from groupon and then headed home to eat our leftover pizza 🙂 Very relaxing day.

We woke up and headed to get coffee at Alana’s Coffee Roasters. I tried their raw sprouted almond milk and was pretty surprised! It definitely tasted “from the earth” and a little sour, but sip after sip it did grow on me. I love a good almond milk vanilla latte and actually prefer them over cow’s milk 🙂 If i don’t get that, I get a soy chai latte usually.
Off to Malibu we went and you guys I swear it is so beautiful there! If you know me, you know I crave sunshine and feel the happiest when the weather is nice and warm, the sun is on my skin, and I’m near the ocean. It was a nice warm day but still in the low 60’s so I wore a knotted sweater and my favorite jeans at the moment. I’ve gotten a couple requests to show you how I tie and knot my tees/sweaters so I promise I’ll do that this weekend!
She took me to the CUTEST place ever – she knows my aesthetic and the types of places I go crazy over so Malibu Farm Cafe & Restaurant was a dream. They had really pretty farmhouse decor and the yummiest brunch. We opted to sit at their restaurant at the beginning of the pier instead so we could get sit-down service. If you are looking for a more casual setting, their farm cafe is at the end of the pier and has killer views too right on the water.

I had the gluten free waffle which was DIVINE and she had the breakfast egg-wich which was also so yummy. Their bacon and eggs are also delish!! This restaurant was full of pups and dogs so you know we both went crazy over them 🙂
BFF lovin’ – PS perks of being my BFF lol you can borrow any clothes and makeup haha
After shopping in Malibu, we headed home to get fresh for dinner. If I’ve been in the sun all day I usually like to remove my face makeup and then reapply it. I know it sounds extra and kinda crazy but it makes your makeup way more fresh 🙂 You can check out my daily makeup products here.
I’ve been dying to go to Catch LA. A ton of my friends who live in LA have gone. It’s the prettiest restaurant and the food looked so yummy. The interior is like a glass botanical garden and has stunning views of downtown LA. I love love love seafood so I knew I wanted to go here when we went. The food is somewhat pricey, but very delicious. I recommend making a reservation because the wait can get crazy! We got oysters, crispy shrimp, the MRC sushi roll, and the lobster mac & cheese. The portions are meant to be shared so it’s nice to order a bunch of items and try new things.
