Happy Tuesday!! Hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend π I am finally getting around to sharing our weddingversary trip last weekend and can’t wait to tell you more about our first time visiting Cabo. Celebrating one year of marriage in Cabo was absolutely amazing. I can’t tell you how special it was waking up on our anniversary to the most beautiful oceanfront view. Many of you sent me messages during our trip wanting a review of our resort and Cabo in general. We’ve been to Puerto Vallarta before but this was our first trip to Cabo. We LOVED it! It was absolutely gorgeous there and just the relaxing vacation we needed.
Resort Review
*Special thank you to Pueblo Bonito for collaborating with me for our couples spa treatment and dinner at La Frida. As always, collaborations do not influence my reviews and all opinions are my own π
Our stay at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach was nothing short of amazing!! I booked our trip through Alaska Trips so it was a flight and hotel combo booking. It was super convenient and I do feel like we got a nice discount on the hotel for booking our flight with Alaska at the same time. If you’re going to any resort in Mexico, definitely go for the all-inclusive option. I love the convenience of not having to think about food costs or where you’re going to eat and TONS of resorts in Mexico offer this option.
From the moment we arrived, Pueblo Bonito made us feel so welcome. The hotel surprised us and upgraded our junior suite to the presidential suite. We were shocked – it was the nicest surprise ever! They decorated it with lots of flowers and goodies. I can honestly say I had high expectations for the resort already because of their Trip Advisor reviews and they totally exceeded them.
Our presidential suite came with a butler and he really went above and beyond during the trip. Every day, Alfredo made sure we had everything we needed from golf carts to various areas around the hotel, planned activities for us, reserved spots for us at the pool, and went out of his way to help us with our itinerary for the day.
Food: The resort has so many options (almost 10 restaurants to choose from I think) ranging from fine dining Mexican to Chinese to Japanese to 24 hour buffets. They even have a 50s themed diner and a large marketplace with a bakery, ice cream spot, cafe, etc. So many endless options for being an all inclusive and food quality was great. 24 hour room service is included as well. La Frida does have an up charge ($30 pp) but the experience is well worth it! Ask for Juan the mixologist to make a tasty drink for you at your table! Heβs the best!
Transportation from airport: Definitely contact them a few days before you arrive to arrange shuttle transportion from the airport. Taxis can be crazy expensive and the shuttle transportation is much more affordable.
Transportation around the resort: The resort and grounds are massive so they have over 35 golf carts that are available to take guests from the lobby to their rooms to the restaurants and pools. We were in building 42 and had amazing views! One night it was windy and cold, they even had covers for the golf carts to block the wind on the rides.
Spa: We had a couples massage and it was so relaxing! Both of our masseuses were great. After our massages, we had an hour of jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room therapy. It was such a treat! They even set up fresh fruit, chocolates, and champagne for us to enjoy after our spa treatments.
Sister Resorts: Pueblo Bonito owns a few different resorts In Cabo and whats great is you can go visit Rose and Blanco through their daily shuttle that leaves every hour on the hour. Your all inclusive works there as well! One day, we went over to the other resorts so we could experience the beach as well. The water and waves are too rough to swim in at Sunset beach so they donβt allow guests in the water. The other resorts are nice but Sunset Beach is by far the newest and best one. We didn’t have a chance to visit their adults only Pacifica resort next to Sunset Beach so I can’t comment on that one but the photos of it look gorgeous!
Pools: The best pool is the Sky Pool all the way at the top. It has stunning views of the whole resort. Every pool has waiters that bring drinks and snacks poolside. One thing I will say is that Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach is not adults only (which is what we prefer). Since we went during May (slow season) there werenβt many kids around which was nice!
Overall, we were so impressed with Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach and cannot wait to visit again! It’ll be our go to place when we go back to Cabo π My one regret is that we didn’t stay longer. I think it would have been nice to get to go eat at all of the different restaurants around the property. They also had so many pools we didn’t get a chance to spend time at too! The resort was just a dream and I highly recommend it if you’re planning a vacation to Cabo.
Other places to visit/things to do in Cabo
*We were only in Cabo for four days so these are the other restaurants and the one excursion we did outside of the resort. Now that I can officially cross off “first time visit” to Cabo I don’t think we would leave Pueblo Bonito if we came back to Cabo. I had quite a few people ask about this. It’s not to say I didn’t feel safe outside of the resort but we did have taxi drivers who were trying to make money off of us by changing prices on us mid trip and that sort of thing. The resort is so secluded so it in turn felt safer.
Another thing (and this is very small) but when we were at the beach, there were many vendors that would walk up to you to try to sell things. I think it’s fine if they ask once because they’re just trying to run their business but it got annoying when they kept asking and coming back after you already said no. We really just wanted to lay out and enjoy our time together. To avoid this in the future, I would probably sit in the second row of beach chairs. Needless to say, my favorite days were at the resort laying by the pool lol.. and our dinner at El Farallon.
Wow, top 5 best dinners we’ve ever had. The restaurant is built into the side of a mountain/cliff and the views out onto the ocean are so romantic. Right when you check in you get to pick your main course and they have a clear display case of all the fresh fish and meat. Everyone eats the same trio of appetizers and dessert and you just have to choose your main course. Make a reservation well in advance! I did a 5:30 reservation and we didn’t get to watch the sunset but I kind of liked that it was still daylight out so we could enjoy the views.
The Office is great for a fun atmosphere – eating lunch with your toes in the sand never gets old. I think for us personally it didn’t live up to the hype. The food was kind of expensive for what we got but the views right on the beach were nice.
The food was good but not life-changing. I think what makes this restaurant is the ambiance. The white buildings, the view, the decor is all incredible. I wish we had gotten to see it during daytime. We went after our Sunset Sail so we had to do a late reservation. It was still so romantic but I think to truly experience it’s magic make sure you book a sunset reservation.
Sunset Sail/Cabo Arch
I feel like for any first timers you just have to visit the Arch. I didn’t love the sail that we went on mainly because they didn’t get us close to the arch at all!! There were tons of other boats that went in closer and I feel like they missed the mark on that. We didn’t get any photos with the arch which was a bummer π They spent the majority of the two hours out at sea which was fine but I wish we had spent way more time around sea lions and the arch. It was oddly cold that night we did the sail so halfway through I was freezing lol so make sure you bring a jacket just in case. This tour was the one we went on – I would not recommend.
Outfits
Okay I won’t lie to you I didn’t wear a ton of clothes in Cabo. I spent most of the time in a swimsuit π which was totally fine with me because #lifeisbetterinabikini β₯ I’m sure you already know but ya girl loves planning the perfect outfit lineup for a vacay so enjoy these Cabo outfits and hopefully they give you some vacation style inspo!
This bikini top is to die for!! The material is so soft and I love how the lace up is adjustable. For size reference, I’m wearing a M in the top and a S in the bottoms. My bottoms are old from VS but linked some very similar ones. My coral shirt coverup is from Lulus. It’s waitlisted but still available in white! Wearing an XS in it.

Absolutely loved this bodycon dress – I saw Khloe Kardashian wear this outfit and really wanted to rock an orange dress in Cabo. I found this one and it fit like a glove! Wearing an XS – it was a little tight on the chest but fit everywhere else great. I also linked all of my makeup details for you. I only wore the cc cream the whole time I was in Cabo and it was great coverage and so lightweight. Lashes are here.
Dress details here
My exact swimsuit is here and wearing a Small. It tends to sell out so I linked some other options for you!
You all made this maxi sell out!! It was so stunning! I linked a few other really similar white floral maxis for you in case you want to have a similar look for an upcoming event or vacation.
Loooove this hat – the brim length is just right and it covered me from the sun all weekend. I followed the measurement guide and the S fit my head perfectly. Wearing a 25 in the shorts, TTS.
I finally jumped on the lemon print train… and where have I been?! It’s just so fun and screams summer. I’m wearing a small TTS and even though the suit is not lined I still think it was flattering because it has adjustable straps. I felt the girls had enough lift despite there not being any built in padding.
I was on the hunt for a Frankies Bikini dupe forever and I finally found a great ribbed tie knot bikini dupe for you all! I’m wearing a M in the top and S in the bottoms. I would say its TTS.
I’ve been wanting a high waisted tassel bikini forever.. but obviously didn’t want to spend $150+ on it. The nice thing about fashion trends is if you wait long enough there’s always an affordable dupe that comes out. This dupe is only $40 for the entire set!! Its TTS, I’m wearing a M in the top and S in the bottoms. It’s still fully stocked so grab it before it sells out!!
And that rounds up our Cabo vacay recap!! If you made it all the way through this post – you’re the best! Thank you for reading and allowing me to share this very special wedding anniversary trip with you all. Travel is a huge part of our relationship and I’m so lucky that Daniel loves traveling just as much as I do. He is my favorite travel buddy of all time π Can’t wait to share our next adventure with you all.
Hope you all have a good week!
