It’s that time of year again and the #NSale is coming up in just 5 days. I’ve been a huge fan of this sale long before I was even a blogger but now that I blog, I love covering it and helping you all find the best items from the sale! The sale can be a bit overwhelming if you don’t plan and prepare before it starts so I’m here to be a resource for you throughout the sale. Feel free to DM me or email me if you have questions!

JULY 12th – Early access starts
JULY 19th – Public access starts
AUGUST 5th – Sale ends
HOW CAN I SHOP THE SALE?
To get early access to the sale and shop before the public, you need a Nordstrom card. Years ago, they did offer a debit card version of the Nordstrom card but now they only offer a Nordstrom credit card. I would never encourage you all to open up a credit card you don’t need as I don’t know your financial situation but if you do want to sign up, you can do so here. You get a $60 Nordstrom note (essentially cash back to spend on your purchase) if you sign up before July 10th. Personally, we use ours a ton and love it! We also get lots of notes back to spend on future purchases, get alteration credits, etc.
Another way around this is finding a friend or family member who already has a Nordstrom card and shopping through their account! Before I got my card, I used to use my sister’s account 😉
WHAT’S SO SPECIAL ABOUT THE SALE?
Most of the time when items go on sale, it’s because they are old items that stores are trying to clear out of inventory to make way for next season’s inventory. This is the only sale where brand new items are marked down 20-60% off full price! Fall is my absolute favorite season for fashion and getting the chance to get my hands on the newest fall trends and items at a discounted price is always the best.
Not to mention, lots of designer brands are part of the sale! Some of my favorite brands to shop are Barefoot dreams, Sam Edelman, Vince Camuto, Leith, Madewell, BP, Tory Burch, Halogen, Hunter, Adidas, Nike, Spanx, North Face, Patagonia, Zella, etc. Daniel also LOVES this sale so it’s not just for women! You can find something for your hubby and family too.

WHAT DO YOU PERSONALLY LIKE TO SHOP FROM THE SALE?
I mainly use this as a time to invest in pieces that will last me all throughout fall and winter. Some of my favorite purchases from last year were a nice pair of tall boots, a quality camel coat, a barefoot dreams cardigan, and booties! I also stock up on fall basics that I think are cute but these are not the items I immediately go after when the sale goes live (cardigans, plaid shirts, jeans, tees, sweaters). Daniel uses this time to buy new sneakers, dress shoes, and dress shirts. He’s a big fan of this sale too!
DO YOU GET CREDIT IF I SHOP THROUGH YOUR LINKS?
I so appreciate all of you who go out of your way to make sure I get credit for your purchases. As many of you know, when you purchase an item through my links either through my blog or through the LiketoKnow.It app, I get a small percentage of commission. This is what allows me keep the blog running in addition to having my full time job. I don’t get credit if you shop through the Nordstrom app but I do get credit if you shop online and select pick up in store! This is probably the best option so you can get your items fast and skip the lines if your items are in stock at a store near you 🙂
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT YOU TO COVER DURING THE SALE?
This is the first year I don’t have a group of summer interns keeping me busy at my corporate job (if you missed it, I switched jobs back in April!) so I’ll be able to devote more time covering the sale than I did in years past. You can expect a blog post up first thing July 12th with an overall roundup of my favorite items from the sale.
I’ll also be sharing a ton on IG stories (try-ons, styling items multiple ways, etc) and of course on the LTK app so you can follow me in the LTK app and set your IG story notifications on to make sure you don’t miss anything. I’ll also be saving all #NSale content to a highlight on my profile for you to reference back to throughout the sale.
GENERAL TIPS
-If you like something, add to cart and CHECK OUT! I’m not kidding when I say that I have had items sell out while they’re in my cart and I’m shopping around. Daniel and I have looked at a few things in the preview catalog to figure out what we’re adding to cart right away to purchase. For me, it’s the tan pair of tall boots with the pointed toe! 😉
-Since it’s free shipping and free returns, there’s really nothing to lose by purchasing what you like and then returning what doesn’t work.
– Things like jeans, designer items, boots/booties, and coats will go FAST.
-If you’re a cardholder, make it a triple points day so that you can earn points faster and get Nordstrom notes!
-It’s easy to get carried away with this sale and overbuy so think about what you really need to buy and what are just “wants.” Shop smarter here so that you don’t get sold out on the things you really “need” for that fall wardrobe.
